White stucco contrasts sharply with other black elements including roof, windows, and moldings to create this dramatic expression in this Broadmoor home to create a striking expression that has both traditional and contemporary influences. The black and white theme of the exterior is carried through on the interior with the use of black doors and nearly black cerused paneling in the two-story entry hall.

Rooms are organized along a corridor that runs the length of the house. At the extreme ends are the entry hall/living room and at the other, the kitchen/family room. The home’s central feature is a covered outdoor terrace that is connected to the home with continuous French doors on three sides and opens to the garden on the fourth. The rooms that connect to it include the family room, dining room, and living room. This outdoor “room” is a focus for the home, and is an important part of daily living and gathering.
