About This Project
This home is located a few miles north of Seattle overlooking Puget Sound with great views of the Olympic Mountains in the established park-like neighborhood called The Highlands.
We were asked to make dramatic changes throughout the interior of this old world home and to transform its overall feel, organization, and functionality. Our client’s goal was to transform the home into a warmly minimal, light-filled design that would accommodate their informal lifestyle.
Every room was reconfigured beginning with the entry hall and living room. The result is a cohesive blend of bleached quarter sawn white oak paneling and blackened steel details. The kitchen is comprised of ceruse oak cabinets and polished concrete countertops.
We introduced a large carved limestone entry portico to create a new “face” and identity for the home. This one addition was critical to affirming a sense of permanence and timelessness to the design.
